Chioma Sandra Obikel Nwosu a native of Ekwulobia in Aguta local
government area of Anambra state was on 31st of August 2012 murdered in
cold blood by the men of the underworld. The Men dressed in army uniform
snuffed the life out of a beautiful 23 years old medical student.
Chioma Obikel was before her demise a 300 level medical student in Nnamdi Azikiwe University , Nnewi Campus . Her journey to the great beyond started when she passed her 2nd MBBS examination. The examination is said to be the most difficult examination, and calls for great celebrations when passed. Chioma obikel passed her MBBS exams and it gladdened her fathers heart. With great joy, her father gave her money to host her friends to a party. She took three friends to an expense paid trip to owerri, the closest sin city around.
As a lively girl, she partied and had fun with her friends, they all headed home after the party at the wee hours of the morning, she sat in front with the driver as the two friends sat behind. Suddenly they noticed a car trailing them, they continued untill a wild chase broke out. The armed robbers shot at them and the one of her friend behind sustained a bullet wound. On shooting and damaging their tires, they ditched the car along the road and ran inside the bush.
The armed robbers where dressed in army uniforms, and they caught up with the friend with bullet wound because She couldn’t go any further. She pleaded for her life but it fell on deaf ears. Chioma panicked and came out of her hiding as She was encouraged by the sight of the army uniforms. They both pleaded and told them that they where students with little or no cash.
The armed robbers immediately realised that they where on a goose chase got upset and shot Chioma at a close range, targeting her heart. She bled and died afterwards.
Mr Obikel Nwosu was waiting for the return of her beautiful and intelligent daughter but that never happened as the new of her demise reached her father. The situation in her compound is intense, people are crying uncontrollably and lamenting about the great lose of their daughter and doctor. Vigil mass will be held this evening while she will be laid to rest on Friday 14th September 2012.
